Austin Fixxie

Thad put up a link on the Monkey Butt blob about a fixed unit 29er. Pretty cool looking bike. Saw a classy looking stead from Austin built up by Neno's pro cycles off of Anderson Lane. Haven't been into that shop but I hear is butter if you're into the super expensive road bike thing. Suprised to see this bike from there after the shop being described to me, but then again the bikes got some bling so maybe not.

Its raining. We need it.

I wonder how hard Cheney gives it to Bush in the old arse in this one?

Nice billboards

Saw some pretty cool billboards on my way from Wichita to Garden City, KS. They were all in a small town whose name escapes me. Put up by an artist who makes sculptures out of old signs and farm machinary parts. Tried to stop by the atrist's studio shed, but it was closed.

I imagine this is a pretty popular person in this small conservative Kansas town. Looks like this person has it out for a hypocritical Christian entrepreneur. My favorite is the Support Gay Marrige. I feel pretty passionate about that issue. If two consenting adults want to marry they should be able to. Lots more this country needs to worry about then gay people receiving legal protection that straight folk do. Plus if you ask me the sanctity of marrige was destroyed a long time ago. What's the percentage of straight Americans who are divorced. Shit I guess its time we let gay people start tying the not and see if they can't do better than us straight folk. Just my two cents.

Saw some other interesting signs in farm fields too. Lots of signs about abortion. My favorite was calling abortion the American Holocaust. My guess is there's no Jewish people in that little rural town.

Tara's New Bars

Put the old bars from my 1x1 on Tara's Dew. She really likes the risers. Lot more comfy for her than the mustache bars. Ridings been sweet down here. Two mtn bike rides since I've been back. With a freewheel. Coasting is sweet. Amazing how fast you can go through rock gardens coasting. Rode about 20 miles with Tara today to check out the route to her job.

Lincoln

As you can see, the house has been coming along nicely. We are actually at a point now where I feel like I can ride on the weekends. The New Year has started out well. 3 rides in the first two days and no butts. The garage is the last thin finished. Made the bench outta scrap in the shed the previous owners left with the new power tools Tara's dad gave me. Still got 10 fingers and toes.

Shit, I got to get the airport. I'll be in Omaha tonight and hopefully I see a bunch of you Lincolnites this weekend. Depending on timing I may even be able to get through Lincoln at a time I might catch some of you on Thursday as I'm heading to Giligins Island.
